My God that disk boys! Attesissimo come back discografico also for Americans Brutal Hand that, just one year away high autointitolato debut, which went on our pages is not more than a few month ago, to be felt back and repeat what good had suggested those with ten tenacissime traces of red-hot metal, deliziandoci once again with a new disc that exudes love and devotion to certain classic metal sound that most classic as you can get.
So if the kind proposed by our compared to a not so distant past, it is always the same, or almost, to change is to upset expectations, it is no doubt the final element of American combo, in fact, the entry stable in the new plant screamer Freddy Farrell to replace resigning good while Brad Bowles, make more of a substantial improvement in the moons up of the band that, thanks always sagacity, and the compositional talents of innate Herrera brothers, Ed and Jimmy guitar and drums respectively, from once again to a new life escursus visceral sound and intriguing, partorendo eleven beautiful traces of heavy metal with strong connotations symphony, which many see as the main protect both masters of the period Savatage Avatar post, as those masterpieces "Sirens" "The Dungeons are calling, and the last of the Black Sabbath Tony Martin, also because in our songwriting, the dark heavy equipment has never been so predominant as in this.
The result of this fascinating combination of settings and moods sound / music is indeed an album tosto tostissimo, focusing primarily on a number of song from the insured, built on killer riff and sciabolate nature of heavy / power, US dilation typically metal style, and arrangements sopraffini and increasingly complicated, contornati keyboard tuonanti by the ever domo Doug Collier, who was entrusted with a task of greater importance compared to the previous release, and that, in addition to weave carpets rhythmic so dark and penetrating, still manages to emphasize those atmospheric passages that make this "Unchain the world" a disc ten laude !!!!!
And how can we not get carried away with phrases and embroidery harmonics intense and meaningful songs like sgusciante opener "Heart of Stone", a song identified by riffing morbid and wild, almost deflagrante power of persuasive "Vengeance", power metal and progressive rhythmic as in the best traditions of the house Veni Domine / Tad Morose, intense and claustrophobic ballad "Taste the fear," redundant of obscure references and evil omens, as "Darkness" introduced by a double bass always good choices where hard and heavy riff worthy of Black Sabbath par excellence, are still squarciati by inserts in order tastieristici, while if the title track "Unchain the world" is a titanic ride that while bringing with them obscure digressions and cupezza band, move increasingly towards epic tone and majestic, heavy rock purlpeiano "Voices", shows us all the verve and explosive charge in possession of the band in question.
Freddy Farrell is a singer and has much more similar to the sound of the band than its predecessor, and always manages to enriches all of this song with his powerful voice and his texts rich in metaphors and hidden references, then so if certain environments musical and philosophical part of your cultural background, and you are looking for a band in every valid point of view, I believe strongly that the Brutal Hand could do for you seriously.

Review: Karthago Metal Page

Oha!!!! Was ist denn da passiert? Nein, "Burning sea", "Out of time" oder was auch immer gehen voll zur Sache. Freddy Ferrell holt aus seiner Stimme geradezu ungeahnte Höchstleistungen heraus und mir bleibt nur eine absolute KAUFEMPFEHLUNG auszusprechen!

Review #2: Karthago Metal Page

If we were in the 80s the band would become famous in a few weeks, but sadly we are in 2006 and all is much more difficult for promising new bands. BRUTAL HANDs second album is not only promising, its in my opinion a masterpiece and a classic just after its release. While the debut was nice but with parts waiting to become improved, this time I am sitting in front of my stereo and don't trust my ears whether I have made an error and put the Debut from METAL CHURCH or SAVATAGE inside my CD-Player...but no, its BRUTAL HAND. Beside the glorious title-track, mighty songs like Burning sea or Vengeance I haven't heardt from a US-Metal-newcomer-band since a very long time. There were a lot of new talented bands from the States this year, but not one like BRUTAL HAND. If you have the Debut and like it, fine, you will love "Unchain the world", but if you say: "Yes, the first album was nice but not overwhelming", then you MUST give the band a second chance! "Unchain the world" is for me the album of this month worldwide and I had to hear many many CDs. There was stuff like VICIOUS RUMORS or RUFFIANS, but they cannot compare with BRUTAL HAND! Killer-METAL! Must have, no doubt about it!

METAL TO INFINITY

Founded in October 2000 by the name of Minds Eye, a cover band played songs from greats like Rush, Dream Theater and so on. Almost two later, these guys wants to go a more original way by making songs of their own. Meanwhile, the name of the band was replaced through Brutal Hand. A couple of new songs were recorded to be released as a twelve-song / self-titled effort in the summer of 2004. True US Hard Rock / Metal maniacs standing in front of many stages Brutal Hands played those days, were witnesses of something great.

An outstanding band with a lot of potential was born and ready to deliver a damn well blend of Classic Hard Rock and US Heavy Metal music. Singer in charge those days left the ranks and new blood by the name of Freddy Ferrell joined forces in 2006. New songs were recorded at Rocky Mountain Recorders and reproducted by Tony and Chris from New Leaf Optical. In the meantime, Brutal hand's second album entitled "Unchain The World" is unleashed to conquer numerous Classic Hard Rock / Metal fanatics for sure.

My first opinion is that this CD really radiates a higly recommended style. Everybody's heart which strives for the 80s scene will enjoy this work with full strength, no doubt about that! Besides a terrible great production, "Unchain The World" contains eleven killer songs that it's almost too difficult to express my inner feeling. Unique, great vocals to the extreme and to me personal a style of music that reminds me of Q5's "Steel The Light" and Warrior's "Fighting The World", you know these two world famous classic ones for sure.

The use of the keyboards allows me to say that here and there vibes from the world of Progressive music to be recognizable. Awesome melodic guitar duties, entirely skilled to be one of those impressive characteristics of Brutal Hand's manner of the game. Actual to be be straight and honest, each musician here present on the CD sounds very valuable. An album, persuading to offer to all those who likes great Hard Rock / Metal music played with a lot of talent.

Brutal Hand conquers my heart in any case, one of the revelation of 2006 to me. More information about the band you retrieve at: www.brutalhand.com MY POINTS: 93 / 100

BRUTAL HAND

"Unchain The World"

2006 Private Pressing (54:21)

Already knowing their very good debut album released in 2004 I was very eager to get to hear its follow-up of course. The band provided me with information about the recording process of "Unchain The World" regularly, one time pictures taken in the studio, another time they sent me 2 songs as mp3 files across the great ocean. And soon it became clear to me that the new album would be a giant leap forward. In fact, I didn't get disappointed. The sound of the CD is heavy and clear and puts a strong emphasis on the brilliant guitar work. Moreover the band's new vocalist is a perfect choice as well with his much more variable and wide-ranged voice. Needless to say that the guys have stuck to their roots. Greetings from Savatage and company once again. To my mind one of the highlights of the ending year 2006. So,Dudes, go and purchase this CD for Christmas and blow thew needles of the fir-tree !!! These guys are worth your attention. This CD is available via every well-known record dealer, so there is no excuse...

BRUTAL HAND
Unchain The World
(11-Song-CD-R: Preis unbekannt)

The Americans BRUTAL HAND have dedicated their second album, "Unchain The World" to all those in the Army. Nice thing, particularly since the accompanying sentence "God bless and please come home safe" doesn't sound martial at all, even if one would refer to it in less US friendly regions and circles. Still, more remarkable is surely the music of this quintet. Shortly after their formation as a cover band under the banner of MIND'S EYE in 2000, along with some line up changes, the name was changed to BRUTAL HAND with the intention to write their own songs.
Their self titled debut already received continuous positive reviews and towards the end of last year they appeared with their current CD "Unchain The World". Again came changes, with Freddy Ferrell as new singer and because of that "Unchain The World" becomes a full and very pleasing Power Metal album. Not that the musicians don't know their craft, but with his uncommonly strong and accentuated vocal style, Freddy is very convincing from opener 'Heart Of Stone' (leaving out the intro 'Crystal Palace') on. BRUTAL HAND have set their compositions mostly in mid tempo pace with extremely talented guitarist Ed Herrera, who's riffs are advantageously catchy and his ideal partner Doug Collier on keys making a duo that constantly reminds of old SAVATAGE. In addition BRUTAL HAND is also reminiscent to DREAM THEATER in their early days, although "Unchain The World" is governed primarily by POWER Metal in the truest sense of the word. Even the balladesque tones that exist like in 'Taste The Fear' demonstrate through goosebumps the incredible power and when BRUTAL HAND push down the gas pedal in the style of old METAL CHURCH like in 'Voices', there's no holding back for the fan of good old US Power Metal.
